The Success to Significance dinner series honors prominent leaders in areas such as art, media, culture and sports who have achieved great success in their fields and have moved from success to significance by giving back to society in a philanthropic form. Honorees exemplify these values and are presented with the WVI Dolphin Award at the dinner.
The WVI is extremely grateful to our WVI Culture Dinner Advisory Board and our corporate sponsors:
On the evening of June 6, at Club 101 in Manhattan, the Wealth and Values Initiative (WVI) honored the media legend Soledad O’Brien. Soledad is an award-winning documentarian, journalist, author, and philanthropist. She is the CEO of Starfish Media Group, and she co-founded the Soledad O’Brien and Brad Raymond Starfish Foundation with her husband.
During the event, Soledad shared her documentary Unheard Voices in her presentation. After the presentation, the WVI legacy families and guests had a warm and inspiring discussion. In the discussion, Soledad talked about her education and her career in journalism, and about how media could contribute to cross-cultural understanding and social wellness.
At the end of the session, Soledad was presented with the Dolphin Award which exemplifies leaders who have achieved professional success and give back to society.
Our next WVI Success to Significance Dinner will honor our Veterans and Col Jack Jacobs, a Medal of Honor recipient and will be held on September 27, 2018.
The team at WVI.
